Perspektive Rot
Blaufränkisch, St. Laurent
Burgenland, Austria

Perspektive Rot 2020 is 70% Blaufränkisch and 30% St. Laurent, both grown on limestone soil. The grapes are partially de-stemmed before fermenting in open top stainless steel and fibreglass vats. After fermenting on the skins for around 10 days, the juice is pumped into barrels where it matures for 22 months and, 1 day before bottling, various barrels are blended together. The result is a juicy red wine with earthy notes and lots of dark berries – surprisingly intense given a mere 10% ABV. Enjoy with a simple sandwich of fresh cheese, dried tomatoes and black olives.

Pink Pet 2021 is 100% Muscat Trollinger, a unique wine with a specially commissioned label from Berlin artist Jeremy Jaspers. Whole grapes are macerated cold for ten days, and further matured in steel tanks. The fermentation starts spontaneously on the mash, and is completed in the bottle. Fruit, flowers, and delicate bubbles make this a great aperitif wine.

Pinot Pur
Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling
Mosel, Germany

Pinot Pur 2021 is the first time that Trossen have made a négoce wine, using organic grapes from a limestone vineyard in Perl. 2021 was an extremely challenging year with mildew and an infestation of Drosophila suzukii (Suzikii fly) resulting in very low yields, forcing numerous winemakers to find alternative solutions to sustain their livelihood. The result is this great combination of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris with a very small amount of Trossen’s own Riesling, aged completely in steel with zero additives. This is certainly not a typical Trossen wine, but is nevertheless delicious, with a fresh, clean and juicy pineapple vibe.
