Grapes are direct pressed and aged in local, Franconian oak for approximately 8 months. A very fresh wine with plenty of structure and minerality. Passion fruit, a touch of pineapple and herbal notes, balanced out by some great Silvaner acidity.
Piria 2021 is 70% Lambrusco di Sorbara and 30% Lambrusco Salamino. Apple peel, red fruit and strawberry on the nose, followed by a dry but fruity palate. Drink as an aperitif or with tortellini in a delicate broth.
Mar i Muntanya 2019 was originally planned as a blend of ⅔ Syrah and ⅓ Grenache Noir. A particularly low yield of Grenache Noir, however, meant it became destined solely for rosé and the missing percentage was replaced with Carignan. This is a fun, juicy wine, fermented in whole bunches and aged for 8 months; 65% in concrete tanks and the rest in oak barrels. ‘Mar i Muntanya’ means ‘Sea and Mountain’, a reference to the winery’s stunning location. Plenty of fresh red berries in this one. Drink slightly chilled with Catalan cheese and charcuterie.
