Still Crossing Borders
Pinot Gris
Rheinhessen, Germany

The grapes for this wine were picked in early September 2022; 100% Pinot Gris from Weingut Achenbach in Neu Bamberg (Rheinhessen), a 20 year old vineyard with sandstone soil. The whole bunches were macerated for 10 days and given plenty of remontage, before ageing in a used oak, 1200 litre barrel. A structured wine with finesse and a slightly carbonic feel that keeps it upbeat and fresh. Enjoy chilled.

Silvaner
Silvaner
Franken, Germany

Harvest 2022 came after a hot and dry year, with essential rainfall at the beginning of August that aided the grapes in their ripening, leading to a healthy yield and a great vintage. A little cooler than the years before, the acidity in the grapes was retained and gave way to powerful but fresh wines. Silvaner 2022 was harvested in mid September from vines of around 45 years. The grapes were direct pressed, fermented in old oak barrels and left for 9 months on full lees before racking and bottling.

Garnatxa
Grenache
Roussillon, France

Garnatxa (the Catalan word for Grenache) is made from 100% Grenache Noir. The grapes were harvested in the third week of August 2022 and the whole bunches were crushed underfoot. After 5 days of maceration the grapes were pressed before ageing for 9 months in fiberglass. This is a great example of a southern european Grenache, with medium and balanced tannins. Sour cherry meets black olives, with a light herbal touch of fresh thyme. Enjoy at around 14°.
